Reports To: Wireless Broadband Supervisor
Installs, troubleshoots, tests, and maintains equipment associated with wireless broadband operations including switching equipment, tower site, microwave radio systems and related applications. May interact with customers to troubleshoot, educate or support related equipment.
Installs new wireless equipment including switching equipment, tower site, microwave radio systems and related applications. Tests new equipment to ensure proper operations.
Troubleshoots problems and maintains existing wireless equipment.
Completes all installation and repair related forms and reports.
May confer with customers to troubleshoot, educate, or support related equipment.
Performs all other related duties as assigned by management.*
Knowledge of wireless base station operations.
Knowledge of microwave, RF and/or broadband technology and DC power systems.
Knowledge of company products and services.
Knowledge of company policies and procedures.
Skill in operating service equipment including various hand tools and testing equipment.
Ability to communicate with co-workers and various business contacts in a professional and courteous manner.
Ability to read and interpret operating and maintenance instruction manuals.
Ability to pay close attention to detail.
Ability to evaluate, test, and repair sophisticated equipment.
Ability to improve or redesign procedures for specific installation/repair problems.
Ability to work independently and make sound technical decisions using information at hand.
Ability to work in confined spaces and isn’t afraid of heights.
Ability to effectively function as a team player.
High school diploma or equivalent plus two years of related technical training or equivalent work experience. Two years of experience in the installation and maintenance of wireless equipment also required.
